Disability Sport

Since 2001 ACTSPORT has provided a vital link between the disability and sporting organisations. This link has been established and maintained through Scholarships, Advocacy, Education and on the ground delivery of various Community Projects.

ACTSPORT's active involvement in the community began with the highly successful Disability Sport Education Program and has since created key partnerships to deliver a Sports Super Clinic Day with ACT Cricket and the 'Be the Best You Can Be' Athletics carnival in conjunction with Snedden, Hall & Gallop. With Both events growing in 2007 and the overwhelming success of the 2008 ACT Cricket Sports Super Clinic Day the upcoming 'Be the Best You Can Be' Athletics Day promises to be as exciting as ever before.

ACTSPORT also provides the important links between athletes and funding opportunities. One such opportunity is The Lord's Taverners Australia, ACT Branch Scholarship scheme is for young aspiring athletes with a disability. Funding is provides athletes who are members of sporting organisations in and around the ACT a chance to realise their long term sporting goals.
